Health Visitors
the health visitors are employed by the Harlow Primary Care Trust and are based at the surgery which facilitates close liaison with the doctors.  The health visitors are responsible for monitoring the health and development of all pre-school children.  Baby Clinics are held on a Thursday.  Details available from the Clinic Clerk on 418139.  The health visitors are happy to offer any advice and may be contacted on Harlow (01279) 418139.  It is best to ring between 9.00am and 12.00 noon and any messages may be left with the clinic clerk.

District Nurses
There is a community nursing team based at the main surgery.  If you are confined to your home and need nursing assistance, then your doctor can arrange for a community nursing sister to call.  If you have been discharged from hospital but still need nursing treatment at home then the hospital will usually arrange for a community nurse to visit you.  The District Nurses hold a clinic to dress wounds and leg ulcers and remove stitches.  To contact the district nurse direct call Harlow (01279) 635711.

Midwives
Our midwives form the Banwell Team and hold clinics on a Wednesday at the surgery.  In conjunction with your doctor they provide antenatal care.  The midwives and the health visitors hold 'preparation for parenthood' classes.  Messages for the midwife may be passed through the clinic clerk if you call (01279) 418139.  Urgent midwifery advice may be obtained by telephoning Princess Alexandra Hospital Harlow (01279) 444455 (ext 7103 during office hours or ask for maternity bleep holder out of hours).
